BP-1 Beswick Gold Circle and Beswick Gold Parallel Lines
Issued 1948 to 1954

The first variety has the words "Beswick" and "England" forming a circle.  This variety was used on 22 different figures.
 
 
 
 

BP-1b (Gold Parallel Lines)
 
The second variety has the words "Beswick" and "England" arranged in parallel lines.  This variety was used on two different figures (possibly on more due to errors).

The gold oval was used on 42 Beatrix Potter figurines.
 
 

Transitional Backstamp Part Gold, Part Brown

This backstamp exists on a limited number of figures.  The backstamp is part gold and part brown line; usually the "Beatrix Potter" and the figure's name appear in gold with the last three lines in brown.

This backstamp was reinstituted for 1989 to mark the change from Doulton/Beswick figures to Royal Albert.  It was used on 6 different figures.

Issued as a general backstamp for a very short period of time in 1998, the brown script may turn out to be the rarest of the Beatrix Potter backstamps.  It is found on only 2 figures.

BP-8c is a modification of BP-8a and designed for the limited edition figurines.  It is found on three figures.

 
 
 
BP-9 Beswick Ware Gold Script Issued 1997-1999
 
A gold Beswick Ware script backstamp was coupled with the anniversary, limited edition, gold, or platinum highlighted figures.  There are four varieties of this backstamp.

BP-9a 100th Anniversary of John Beswick Studios, Issued 1994
 
Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Beswick studios.  The backstamp was only available on the Large Jemima Puddle-duck.

BP-9b Beswick Ware Gold Script General Backstamp Issued 1997-1998
 
This backstamp is found on 6 different characters, all which have gold accents.

BP-9c Beswick Ware Gold Script Limited Edition
 
This backstamp, a modification of the BP-9b, appears on 12 large size figurines issued by Lawleys By Post between 1997-1999.  They were issued and sold on pairs.  A single double figure was issued in 2000. 

BP-9d Peter Rabbit and Friends Limited Editions
 
This backstamp is a modification of BP-9b and is found on limited edition figures with gold accent issued by Peter Rabbit and Friends.  It is found on 5 figures.

BP-10 Beswick Black Crest Issued 1998 to Date
 
In 1998 the Beswick backstamp was redesigned and theBeswick crest was re-introduced for the Beswick line of Storybook figurines.  There are three varieties of this backstamp.
